We are thrilled to announce that Water Industry Printfrastructure 2.0 has been named as one of the winners of Ofwat’s sixth Water Breakthrough Challenge, receiving £1.9M.
Water Industry Printfrastructure (WIP) 2.0 builds on earlier trials of 3D concrete printing by scaling to larger, onsite-printed tanks and structures to enable faster, cheaper and greener delivery that moves beyond wastewater and seeks to develop an approved clean water solution.
What is the Water Breakthrough Challenge?
Run by Ofwat and Challenge Works and supported by Arup and Isle Utilities, the Water Breakthrough Challenge is a part of Ofwat’s £600 million Water Innovation Fund designed to drive innovation and collaboration in the sector to benefit customers, communities and the environment.
It supports initiatives that help to tackle the biggest challenges facing the water sector, such as achieving net zero, protecting natural ecosystems and reducing leakage, as well as delivering value to society.
